Tinubu Lauds British Consumer Goods Company Reckitt Benckiser’s Commitment To Nigeria’s Progress

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday met with a delegation from British multinational consumer goods company Reckitt Benckiser, which has been investing in Nigeria for over 60 years.
The president praised the company for being committed to the country's development.
"We are creating an environment for the private sector to thrive in. I am glad that you are here to stay for the long term. I am happy that you have been in the country for many years, and you have decided to invest more," Tinubu said, as per the statement shared on the State House website.
"We have embarked on challenging reforms to improve the economy. Our reforms will improve the ease of doing business for partners like you moving forward."
The president assured investors they would get good returns on their investments, thanks to a strong market and a large population.
The delegation was led by the CEO, Kris Licht, and the chairman of Reckitt Benckiser Nigeria Limited, Chief Olu Falomo.
Licht said that Nigeria was one of the most important countries for the company. ''We have had very good business here for many years, and we congratulate you on your first year in office. We see Nigeria as an important business destination for today and the future.''
The Chief Executive Officer also congratulated Tinubu on completing his first year in office as the president, noting that the company saw Nigeria as "an important business destination for today and the future."
Falomo also echoed the sentiments, saying, "We have asked our global team to come and assure you that we back your efforts. They have said they are not going anywhere. We are here to support this government."
Last month, Vice President Kashim Shettima noted that Nigeria has the potential to become a major economic force in the world under Tinubu, as his administration was focused on making a really good environment for both local and foreign investors.
By 2050, Shettima noted that Nigeria was all set to become the third most populous country in the world and added that recently an investment bank projected that by 2075 the nation's economy will be the third largest in the world.
