President Tinubu Vows To Ensure Secure The Nation’s Future On Children’s Day

In the wake of celebrating Children's Day on Monday, President Bola Tinubu said he will ensure that the youngsters of the country are secure, adding that his administration won't spare any efforts in ensuring that children have a solid footing for the realization of their dreams.

He encouraged parents, guardians, and families across the nation to strengthen the family unit, where important values like honesty, modesty, hard work, and charity are passed down to the next generation, as per the official statement shared on the State House website.

Tinubu emphasized that the well-being of society depended on the values instilled in each family, urging everyone to uphold these principles for a better country.

The president affirmed that his government was working tirelessly to support children in achieving their goals, adding that investments in education have been increased and there have been various improvements in the education system.

He highlighted the efforts of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children's Education to address the issue of children not attending school, promising that his administration will continue to expand access to qualitative education for all Nigerians.

The president reassured the nation of his promise to enhance quality education in the country.

Earlier this month, Tinubu lauded a recently launched campaign titled "Education as a Powerful Tool for Change," which aimed at promoting inclusive education, skill development and gender equality.

The campaign, which kicked off with the tag #WeAreEqual, was launched in 15 African countries focusing on health, education, economic empowerment, and ending gender-based violence. It was led by the Organization of African First Ladies for Development and headed by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Last month, the president signed the student loan bill into law, before highlighting the importance of education in getting rid of poverty.

The president originally signed the student loan bill into law in June, aiming to provide financial aid to Nigerian students in tertiary institutions. However, despite being signed earlier, the bill's implementation encountered delays due to various issues hampering its rollout.

Earlier this year, Tinubu revealed his plans to create millions of job opportunities by unlocking trillions in public wealth to optimize and double Nigeria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
