Shettima Rallies Support For Ondo’s Aiyedatiwa And Adelami Ahead Of Governorship Election

Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged the people of Ondo to vote for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Olayide Adelami, in Saturday's governorship election, adding that the duo would bring hope, prosperity and unity to the state.

The vice president conveyed President Bola Tinubu's support for Aiyedatiwa, noting that the administration was confident the election will continue APC's commitment to the people's welfare, as per the official statement shared on X.

Shettima encouraged the people to make their votes count, sending a strong message to those who underestimated the power of Ondo's electorate. He made these comments while addressing a large crowd at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure during the final campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

He added that even though President Tinubu could not attend the event due to being in Saudi Arabia, he fully endorsed the Aiyedatiwa-Adelami ticket as the key to prosperity for Ondo State.

Shettima emphasized that Aiyedatiwa was not just seeking re-election, but was campaigning to bring hope, prosperity, and unity to all parts of Ondo State. He expressed confidence that Aiyedatiwa was the leader capable of turning these goals into reality.

The vice president explained the election was more than just choosing between two candidates -- it was about deciding between progress over stagnation and unity over division. He urged voters to support a party that has consistently delivered, and a leader who truly understood the needs of Ondo.

He encouraged the people to remember what the APC stood for, as they head to the polls and to vote for a governor with the experience, compassion, and strength to continue moving the state forward.

Shettima urged the people of Ondo to ignore distractions and focus on the integrity and stability the APC has brought to the state. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen the state's economy, even if the benefits were not always immediately obvious, and emphasized the practical solutions APC offers to make Ondo State even brighter.

The vice president praised Aiyedatiwa and his deputy as leaders of great courage who have faced challenges that would have discouraged others.
