Nigeria’s First Lady Launches Renewed Hope Initiative Food Outreach In Ekiti For Vulnerable Groups

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria's First Lady and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) launched the RHI Food Outreach in Ekiti State on Thursday to distribute food items to vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, widows, and special schools.

The event was held at the Osuntokun Pavilion in Ado Ekiti and the first lady was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima's wife and National Vice Chairman of RHI, Hajiya Nana Shetima.

Hajiya mentioned that the event echoed the Tinubu's commitment to improving living standards for these vulnerable groups. She went on to share that empowerment and food security are key parts of her agenda.

"Today, as we launch the program in Ekiti State, we aim to reach all the geo-political zones and support citizens in need. Our hope is that this initiative will have a tangible impact on the lives of those we are here to support as we distribute these associated food items, we encourage the beneficiaries to utilize them for the well-being of their families," Hajiya said, as per the official statement shared on X.

"A healthy family forms the foundation of a striving society, which is ultimately our goal. The Renewed Hope Initiative remains committed to transforming lives through various programs in health, education, agriculture, social investment and economic empowerment."

Speaking at the event, Olayemi Oyebanji, the wife of the Ekiti State Governor and RHI State Coordinator Biodun Oyebanji thanked Oluremi for supporting the RHI food outreach program, calling it a symbol of hope and reassurance.

Oyebanji further said that this initiative will reassure Nigerians that the president was committed to meeting the needs of Nigerians across the country. She also praised the first lady for her dedication to making positive changes in the lives of all Nigerians.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Biodun Agboola expressed gratitude towards the First Lady, noting that the initiative will help ease the struggles of vulnerable people. Agboola praised Tinubu for her kindness and support for those in need.

He also praised the Ekiti governor and his government for making people's lives better, especially those, who were dealing with disabilities in the state.
