National Security Adviser Warns Against Obstructing Security Efforts Under Tinubu Administration

National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu has warned perpetrators across Nigeria that interfering with security efforts under President Bola Tinubu's administration will not be accepted.

During the Comptroller General of Customs Conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Ribadu stressed the president's commitment to eliminating bandits, terrorists and other security threats.

Ribadu said that the Tinubu-led administration was working hard to create a secure environment for the citizens, which was important for the country's growth.

He highlighted the improved security in the Niger Delta region and the rise in crude oil production, which has reached 1.8 million barrels per day.

The security adviser also mentioned that many parts of the country were now peaceful, and the situation in the Niger Delta has notably improved. The NSA asked Nigerians to be patient during the ongoing challenges, explaining that the government's policies were aimed at cleaning up the system and boosting the economy.

Ribadu also mentioned that the government's strong security strategies have resulted in the killing of hundreds of bandits each day, causing many of them to flee to Chad.

"This prompted the Chadian president to declare war on them," the National Security Adviser said, Punch reported. "We will secure this country, we will fix it, we are not jokers."

He mentioned that the Central Bank of Nigeria was undergoing reforms and that efforts were being made to stabilize the Naira.

In addition, Ribadu also praised the Nigeria Customs Service for its achievements and encouraged officers to aim for leadership roles. He highlighted that new growth opportunities are now available to them. The conference, which started Tuesday, will conclude on Friday.

Earlier this week, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Olusola Akinboyewa announced that several terrorists, who had a stronghold in Zamfara and Kebbi State, were killed as part of an operation named Fansan Yamma.

With the help of advanced surveillance and precise targeting, NAF forces carried out a surprise airstrike on several camps, including an important one in Zamfara near the Kebbi border and Ado Aleiro's well-protected area near Asola Hill in Tsafe Local Government Area.

Last month, the Federal Executive Council approved a loan of about $618 million from a group of lenders to buy six fighter aircraft and ammunition for the NAF.
